Santa Claus was the most popular Finn at the Rio Olympics
Finland's most famous resident, Santa Claus, surprised and delighted with his presence on the ground in Rio. Santa met tens of thousands of enthusiastic people, encouraged the athletes in the Olympic spirit and was delighted to see so much goodwill and team spirit. In conjunction with the competitions, the Finland House was opened in Rio, serving as a meeting place and a showcase for Finnish expertise. Santa Claus was on hand to host and promote Finnish expertise, together with the President of the Republic of Finland, Sauli Niinistö, among others.
Santa Claus has returned to the Korvatunturi again to prepare for Christmas and sends his greetings to everyone. See you in four months!
